“Creating our future now”

At the Canadian Earth Institute we take a fun, personally meaningful and inclusive approach to environmental awareness and protection. Why wait until tomorrow when we can create the world we want today?

We generate positive environmental change through a complimentary set of courses and community outreach activities. Our work is based on personal transformation, practical skills, cooperation and working with community for the benefit of our world.

Hands-On Learning
Work with others in your community to learn environmentally-friendly, practical skills. For example, construct benches, ovens, or even houses using cob and other sustainable building practices; learn how to grow your own food in tune with nature (permaculture); or, set up systems for recycling greywater, rainwater harvesting and composting toilet.

Transitioning to Sustainability
Learn how to be a responsive, supportive and self-aware leader. Focus on developing effective cooperation skills such as listening, respect and mutual understanding. Enter into new ways of working together to change the world.

Discussion Courses
Join friends, family and other community members in an enjoyable, supportive setting to examine personal values and habits, engage in stimulating discussion, and make personal changes if desired.
